The Montpelier Heritage Group conducts guided historic walking tours of the famed fall foliage in nearby hills and along country roads. The annual spectacle is hard to describe, but it's one that shouldn't be missed!
Lake Champlain was witness to history in the making. Many famous maritime battles were fought on the lake and and the relics of these ships lie at the bottom of the lake. The state of Vermont has created an underwater historical preserve, on a trial basis, which divers can enjoy. This underwater preserve is administered out of the state capital of Montpelier, VT.
